During the retreat, a group of friends and I went for a sunrise hike. That's right- sunrise. So at 5:30 in the morning, we were up and out driving towards the nearest mountain. After getting lost on the trail, we realized the hike was going to be more difficult than imagined. Not only did we have to hike but we have to bear snow up to our knees as well. However, it was worth all the cold, hard work. The sunrise was beyond breathtaking and it reminded me of what a Psalmist said in chapter 19. "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge" (verse 1-2).
