The 90's would have rejected this dress

21 March 2012
My  R.A.,being the trendy woman she is, bought a surprise dress off Modcloth expecting something very vintage. However, the dress from 90's hell came in the mail instead and she wasn't sure what to do. When she said there was no hope for cuteness and I declared "challenge accepted" (How I Met Your Mother pun totally instead). With the addition of a over sized cardigan and tights, the illusion takes the eyes off  the ugly pattern. Plus, the big necklace adds to the color distraction. There is no such thing as a hopeless dress, even one with shoulder pads.

Take the hint

20 March 2012
When the weather man stated that Colorado would be in the sixties all week, I almost didn't believe him. Sure, I've gotten use to snow but it would be nice feel a degree above forty. Then magic happened, spring finally made it. It was a beautiful week. I could finally break out my cotton sundresses and bask in the warm sun. Even though, the number one motto in the 303 is if you don't like the weather just wait ten minutes, it will change. However, I hope this miracle stays in Colorado for the rest of the semester.

The reckoning

Last Monday night, my friends and I went to Denver for one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I've always been a fan of Needtobreathe but my undying love for Ben Rector has never been a secret. So back in early March when I found out both there coming in April, my best friend and I bought our tickets immediately.  It was hands down one of the most incredible experiences of my life. My group and I were lucky enough to be so close to the stage we could touch it. My two best friends and I would fight over who the band was looking at because we constantly made eye contact with them.   When Ben Rector performed, I almost started crying. Yes, I'm that girl. However, Needtobreathe rocked my world. Their new album, "The Reckoning" is now constantly replying in my car, my apartment, and my head. The best part of the whole night  had to be when I got to meet Ben Rector. He signed my ticket and I couldn't stop shaking. The whole experience will be a memory I will constantly replay in my head forever.
It's hard to tell but this is when Bo smiled at me
Ben Rector + Needtobreathe = the best moment so far
Mackenzy had some good luck as well when she caught Needtobreathe's guitar pick
My life is now complete

Mexican food March

18 March 2012
Out of the several aspects of my hometown that I miss the most is the food. If I were to make a list of what I missed it would look like this: 1. my dog...duh, 2. constant warmth, and 3. Mexican food. Yes, friends and family are vital but I miss good Mexican food so much I'm drooling while typing this post. I love Colorado-it's my new home but if I don't find a good burrito soon, I might start setting things on fire. With this passionate love for chimichangas and others alike, my best friend and I have set out to find this yummy food. First stop was El Gallito which we knew would be excellent since the restaurant was located on Arizona street. Score! However, my best friend, not use to places like this, said if she got food poisoning I would be in trouble. Luckily, we didn't and we enjoyed the closest home cooked Mexican meal I've had in a while. Forget March Madness, I officially renaming the month Mexican food March. Bring on the tacos!

Just my luck

The night before of St. Patrick's Day, I realized I didn't own much green in my closet. So when I was browsing at Target, I found an eight dollar mint green shirt-my favorite color and right in my price range. Once  I bought the shirt, it became my good luck charm. Today, on the green holiday, I got to sleep in for the first time, got out to dinner with one of my favorite people, and got a new skirt for only six dollars. I'm totally in favor of holidays that involve good luck.

The City

15 March 2012
Lately, I've been spending a lot more time in downtown. From discovering new places to learning where everything is, my budget is mostly spend on parking meters. With that, my street style has improved greatly. In Denver, style is unlimited. From one to the next, each new person  I've encountered in the city clearly expresses their story. This is one of the several reasons why I love the city.

Free Pass

05 March 2012
One of the several aspects of being a college student is that I am constantly limited on money. For instance, at dinner the other night, I had a graham cracker. For this reason, my friends and I take every opportunity to take part in something free. Last week, my friend Laurel and I went to the Denver Science Museum for the afternoon and a group of us visited the Denver Art Museum on Saturday for their once a month free day. Taking these costless chances makes for new learning experience and lasting memories. Plus, spending time in downtown Denver has been one of my new hobbies. Check out the free day across the country.
I heart Denver

Excuse my French

02 March 2012
Currently, one of my favorite radio stations on Pandora is Brigitte Bardot, a controversial former French fashion model and singer of the 60's. I mostly listen to her while getting dressed. However, I didn't realized her French lyrics influenced my style as I browsed my closet. It came to my attention when my roommate slightly mentioned how French I looked. With a light striped shirt and a solid, stand out skirt, I felt just as romantic as France itself.
